What is Mindfulness?

You’ve heard the word a thousand times, but what does it actually mean?

Mindfulness can be broken down into three core concepts:

  1. Focus & Presence – Becoming the eye in life’s storms

We want to be unwavering, even when life is spinning out of control around us. When we are focused and present in both mind and body, we tap into our core of clarity and calm—knowing we can handle each moment as it arises.

  1. Sustained Awareness – Standing firm like a mountain

This is about remaining present with a calm, non-reactive mind. Just like a mountain endures all types of weather, we too can cultivate steady awareness, even when thoughts and emotions fluctuate.

  1. Deep Inner Peace – Bending like a willow tree

When we practice acceptance and non-resistance, we tap into inner peace. Like a willow tree sways with the wind, we learn to be flexible and resilient, trusting each moment as it unfolds.

In upcoming posts, I’ll share more insights on breathwork for stress relief, simple DIY projects for creating a peaceful space, and the power of storytelling in healing
